Cure Cancer? Here’s What Could Happen.
Venki Ramakrishnan, Nobel Prize-winning molecular biologist, said in a recent chat with ABC News that if we cure cancer, diabetes, high BP, and other major illnesses, our life span would increase about 15 years. (Not bad, but I thought it’d be longer.) However, he did go on to say that if we get real about tackling the root causes of aging, we could live a much longer and healthier life. Intrigued? Check out his book, Why We Die: The New Science of Aging and the Quest for Immortality. I haven’t had the chance to dive in myself, but it sounds like a page-turner.
