Be More Like This Guy
In a world filled with vapid Instagram influencers and selfie-stick wannabes, Kami Rita Sherpa is the real deal — he’s climbed Mt. Everest more than anybody. 31 times, Guinness record holder. (And no, he wasn’t holding a Guinness.) He first climbed it in 1994, back when most of us were still wearing flannel. He was 24. Now he’s 55, and he’s still beating that mountain like it owes him money. Why should you care? Because if he can do it — at 55, in a body built by labor, not lululemon — what’s stopping you? I mean, you don’t have to climb Everest. You don’t even have to leave town. But you do have to climb out of bed and do something. Preferably something hard. Something that scares you. Something your doctor would raise an eyebrow at. (Within reason, of course.) Go on, you can do it. Sherpa onward!
